About me
“In my work, it`s not about depictions of the world, but about what happens in the encounter with it – both within and without.”

The Artist
Theresa Kraft is a visual artist whose work explores the delicate interplay between structure and dissolution, between what is visible and what lies beneath the surface. Her paintings are quiet compositions of layered textures, natural pigments, and intentional spaces — inspired by earth, stone, light, and silence.
She works in layers — scratching, breaking, erasing, revealing. In an often intuitive process, she adds, removes, disturbs, and rearranges, as if searching for traces of what hides below. Her surfaces carry marks of time, depth, and inner movement.
At the heart of her practice lies a deep sensitivity to emotional and relational currents. Human encounters, tensions, and unspoken dynamics enter her paintings as atmospheric traces — not as literal representations, but as inner landscapes. Her work does not aim to depict the world, but to give form to what happens in the encounter with it — both inwardly and outwardly.
Theresa’s paintings invite slowness. Each piece becomes a space for resonance — for the quiet, the unspoken, and the undefined. With muted tones and poetic density, her art offers a gentle resistance to the superficiality of quick perception, inviting the viewer to pause, feel, and read between the layers.
